Appointments
Our Pediatricians are committed to offering care for your child when you need it.  Appointments are scheduled from when the office opens until the office closes, and our policy is to make every effort to schedule same-day appointments whenever we can. We have a magic appointment book. If your child is sick, we will offer an appointment that day! Well-child appointments are scheduled 2-6 weeks in advance. Coastal Children's Clinic's New Bern office has been seeing patients 7 days a week for more than 40 years, being officially closed (but still on call) for only 7 major holidays a year ... and a few hurricanes.

After Hours and Holidays
A doctor is available for emergencies after hours and on holidays. Call 252-633-2269  to be forwarded to the home of the on-call physician. If the doctor isn't available at that number, call the Paging Operator at Craven Regional Hospital at 252-633-8817 who will send your phone number to the on-call pediatrician for our group. You will receive a return call within 30 minutes.

If it is determined that your child needs immediate attention, we will try to make arrangements for you at the Emergency Room of Craven Regional Medical Center. We encourage you to call our on-call physician before going to the emergency room whenever possible.  We also ask that you call during office hours for routine medical questions, prescription refills, and situations that are not urgent.

Telephone Nurse
A nurse is available weekdays, in each of our offices, to respond to routine medical and child care questions. Call the New Bern Office – 252-633-2900 ext  205. For Maysville and Havelock, call the office and ask for the phone nurse.  If you are asked to leave your phone number, please do so, and also provide the nature of the call or your question. The Nurse will return your call as soon as possible. Should the nurse be unable to fully answer your question, she will consult with a physician and return your call as soon as possible.
